Shutter Control Unit MSCU-4-24V

 


The Shutter Control Unit - MSCU - is the power supply and controller for our multi-position shutter modules. Using the MSCU you may choose between manual and remote controlled shutter operation. TTL-compatible remote control inputs enable interfacing with most MBE control systems. 

Our shutter control unit is modular, which means that each cell shutter is operated by a separate control unit.

The MSCU housing is compatible with the 19" rack system. The front panel's height is 3 U (128.4 mm) and the width is 12 HP (60.7 mm). The installation depth is 180 mm and requires an additional space of about 50 mm at the back side for the connectors.

The MSCU allows manual control of up to 8 multiple shutter position  through front panel buttons or via remote control. The front panel has two or four indicators for the actual shutter position of the DCS or QCS evaporation cell.

There are two variants: MSCU-2 and MSCU-4. The MSCU-2 is used for shutter positioning in Dual Cluster Sources DCS while the MSCU-4 ist used for shutter positioning in Quad Cluster Sources QCS.
The figures below show both variants with their possible shutter positions. Each position can easily be adjusted remotely at the push of the particular button in the front panel.

Application

The MSCU is recommended for precise shutter positions in DCS and QCS multiple effusion cells.
